Many of the enclosures I’ve used for my builds have plain brushed or anodized aluminium fronts. With these, all customization, drilling, labelling etc. is left to the builder. I’m actually quite fond of this plain, minimal look but occasionally some lettering would be helpful. This applies to the rear as well, I’m thinking RCA jacks…

Elliott Sound Projects P113 Headphone Amplifier
I’m a fan of the projects on Rod Elliott’s ESP site as they come with lots of information to help you understand the circuit, and most are simple and robust enough for entry-level DIY hobbyists. Yet this does not mean these are low audio quality circuits, Rod specifies this P113 headphone amplifier as a very…

Amplifier soft-start and low voltage illuminated on/off switch – H9KPXG
Regular DIYAudio contributor Mark Johnson has kindly released this project into the public domain. The impetus behind the project was the desire for the designer to safely use a low current, front panel switch of the anti-vandal type in power amplifiers. The board incorporates inrush current limiting, wiring for the on/of switch and an auxiliary…

DC Splitter for Bench PSU
There is often a need for a dual voltage supply when dealing with audio (op amps often require dual supplies for example) but there may not be a suitable one at hand. There is, however, usually a single supply, a wall adaptor, bench supply etc. and, at its most basic, all that is required to…
Chipamp.com LM3886 PCB
This is the original chipamp.com board for the LM3886 amplifier, generously released into the public domain by its designer Brian Bell. The board size is 30x74mm so comes in really cheap when ordering. Although the schematic is provided below, it is also worth having a look at the datasheet for more information. Click here to…
LM3886 Amplifier Build Files by 00940
A thread on DIYAudio was concerned with creating an open source PCB layout for the LM3886 amplifier. Although initiated and largely designed by user 00940, there has been some input from others, including advice from Tom Christiansen of Neurochrome, resulting in this implementation. Gerber files, the set of files necessary for a PCB lab to…
Chipamp power supply
This power supply comes courtesy of Brian Bell, former owner of Chipamp.com. After relinquishing control of this small company to another individual, the company appeared to go downhill, but after its demise, Brian generously released the designs he created, including this power supply, into the public domain. If board dimensions are kept below 100mm X…

Public Domain Audio Project PCBs
This page is a repository for build files which are considered public domain. It is hoped that by distributing these files widely, they remain visible to DIY enthusiasts looking for free projects that do not infringe on the copyright or intellectual property of the designer. You can download these projects, modify them as you wish…
